Tank Liners, HDPE Liners, PVC Liners, Pond Liners, Dam Liners

Many dam liners, tank liners, pond liners and HDPE liners supplied and installed by other companies fail within the first few years damaging the reputation of tank liners, dam liner, HDPE liners and pond liners as a legitimate long term waterproofing solution. Here at ATM we’ve developed a design and installation method eliminating these problems, positioning us as the best in the industry with the most comprehensive warranty. Dam liners and pond liners usually use hdpe liners as they are generally thicker at around 1.5mm to 2mm thick. Whereas tank liners are usually PVC liners or polypropylene liners.

Where detached tank liners, dam liners, pond liners and hdpe liners like those shown in the photos above are not the answer for your waterproofing needs ATM provide an industry revolutionizing waterproofing product known as spray on rubber. This spray applied rubber requires minimal surface preparation, can be delivered and applied within 7 days, is far more flexible then HDPE liners, PVC liners, epoxies, polyurethane, polyurea and polyethylene  and is not effected by overfilling, high chemical content,UV stable and is potable. It has been successfully used in numerous tanks, dam liners, pond liners and spill bunding projects, waterproofing many hundreds of thousands of square meters. Spray applied rubber is not only used as waterproofing, it is also approved as a corrosion inhibiting coating for structural and nonstructural steel while still complying to building codes for fire resistance. With spray on rubber as your preferred tank liners, dam liners, pond liners and corrosion repairs combined with ATM’s quality assurance, WHS and EHS you can rest assured your working with the best when your working with ATM.

The most common and initially the most cost effective pond and tank liners are LDPE liners, HDPE liners and PVC liners. These dam liners and pond liners are effective for their general application and in facilitating low-cost supply and installation. However due to a number of early design faults they have been designed and installed incorrectly by many tank companies causing failures within 5 years of installation. The industry in general has copied these engrained methods and thereby lacks the research and development initiative to resolve them. ATM, while remaining competitively priced, offers tank liners, upgrades and new tanks with genuine service life integrity and warranty.

ATM is the premium supplier and installer of: Spray applied rubber, Aeon PTR Liners, HDPE Liners, PVC Liners, LDPE Liners, EPDM and Butyl rubber liners

Tank Liners Vs Spray on Liners

Considering the pros and cons of bladder liners Vs spray on liners is important when deciding on the best way to prolong the life of your tank/reservoir.

Bladder liners consist of a fabric lining inserted into the tank to provide a protective barrier between the tank and the liquid being stored. Bladder liners are manufactured using the tank’s dimensions to ensure a custom fit, to minimise movement. Most tank liners can be installed with minimal tank modification – above the water line. A poorly fitted tank liner can overlap and push through cracks in the wall of the tank. If a liner moves significantly due to poor installation, the material can rip and the leaking liquid can cause significant damage to the tank. Corrosion can also occur if the bladder allows water to collect between it and the tank wall without draining.

While quite durable, bladder liners can be cut by sharp objects – letting moisture get between the tank and liner. Using the best installers and implementing a regular maintenance program can overcome these problems. Furthermore, ATM offer a 10-15 year warranty on the supply and installation of bladder liners, subject to regular maintenance.

Spray-on liners use a protective coating such as rubber or polyurethane that is sprayed on much like paint, only thicker. Properly applied, sprayed-on liners can provide durable watertight and airtight protection. By forming a permanent bond with the surface of the bed, the lining prohibits rust and corrosion as well as insulating against movement. Spray on liners can cost a similar price to PVC tank liners for spray on rubber or anywhere up to four times more than tank liners for Polyurethane – this is mainly because of the drawn out process of surface preparation, requiring more labour.

To properly install a poyurethane liner, the installer must scuff or grind off the tank’s original finish, which may cause severe damage, then they must apply chemicals to help bond the material to the tank . Most spray-on poyurethanes and polyurea projects vary widely in quality as they depend on the ability of installer. Improper preparation can result in failure within days. Some installers cut corners to increase profit by applying materials too fast or using inferior and inadequate material. Carefully check the reputation, experience, and ability of spray-on liner installers. Likewise check the tank liners are manufactured by reputable companies.

Spray on rubber requires less surface preparation while producing far superior results then polyureas this is why we recommend you contact us to discuss the best suited products for your application.

In summary, if you’re considering the difference between a bladder liners and liquid rubber liners, it usually comes down to the workmanship of the installer and the supplier’s ability to provide a reliable warranty.
